Cet Mar Aquarium
The Center for Technological Sea Studies and Aqua Culture is an aquarium exhibit that provides an up close look at the native species of the inter-tidal zone and the northern gulf coast. Here, you can watch sea turtles, octopus, sea horses, shrimp, various fish species, and sea lions.

El Pinacate Volcanic Region Reserve
The Grand Pinacate and Grand Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve is considered one of the most unique volcanic zones in the world. The conservation of these gigantic craters and the surrounding areas are an important of part of the region's ancient history and culture. Daily self guided tours are available from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans (CEDO)
CEDO is a natural history museum with a giant fin whale skeleton. It is also a field station for researchers and classes, an education center with library and laboratories, with a book store and gift shop, an intercultural experience. CEDO is dedicated to research, education and conservation of one of the planet's last great frontiers: the Sea of Cortez .

Seafood Market
Located in the area of Malecon ( Old Port ).  Here, you will find a great variety of seafood, fresh from the ocean.

Beaches
Unique ocean conditions in this town create extreme tides of up to 23 ft. between high and low, and this also produces a unique marine life. Swimming in the area is very safe and emulates lake conditions, with no rip tides and very calm waters unless it is windy. You can watch the sunrise and the sunset on the same ocean horizon.
Some popular beaches are Playa Hermosa, Playa La Joya and Playa Encanto.

If you enjoy the outdoors, your choice of activities is endless during your trip to Puerto Penasco. Some popular activities are swimming, snorkeling, paddle boating, surfing, wind surfing, deep sea, pier and surf fishing, parasailing and kayaking.
