Day Destination Description
Day 1: Dublin Arriva Arrive at Dublin Airport and pick up your car. Drive into Dublin and check into your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day exploring this vibrant and historic capital city.
Overnight: Clontarf Castle, Dublin area, which dates back to 1172.
Day 2: Dublin City Trace the city’s history from early Viking origins, through to the medieval magnificence of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Visit Dublinia at Christchurch, which brings the turbulent History of medieval Dublin vividly to life. Stop by the 16th Century Trinity College, founded by Elizabeth I, now home to the famous illuminated manuscript, the Book of Kells. Don't miss the Guinness Storehouse for a tasting of the world-famous brew.
Overnight: Clontarf Castle, Dublin area.
Day 3: Galway and Clifden Leave Dublin and travel across the rich midland pastures. Visit Belvedere House, the magnificent early 18th century home of Robert Rochfort, Earl of Belvedere, set on the shores of Lough Ennell. Stop at Clonmacnoise a 6th-century Christian site before crossing the River Shannon, Ireland’s longest river. Arrive into Galway, whose long-standing trade with Spain has left its mark on the city’s architecture. Visit the Spanish Arch and the Spanish Parade. Continue out into the Connemara region and on to Clifden. 
Overnight: Abbeyglen Castle, Clifden, where you will enjoy panoramic views of Clifden and the Twleve Bens.
Day 4: Connemara Today travel through the wild and rugged Connemara region, famous for the savage beauty of its lake and mountain scenery. Visit Connemara National Park, where Connemara ponies and Irish red deer roam freely through 5,000 acres of scenic mountains, bogs and grassland. Stop at the spectacular lakeside Kylemore Abbey, which is run by Irish Benedictine nuns. On your return, take a scenic drive through Leenane, where you can opt to take a Sea Cruise through Killary Fjord to explore Connemara's hidden coastal and mountain scenery. 
Overnight: Abbeyglen Castle, Clifden
Day 5: Connemara and Clare Leave Clifden and travel south through Galway and into Clare, known as the “land of castles”. Why not visit Rathbaun Farm or enjoy a traditional tea and scones break. Travel on through the strange lunar landscape of the Burren region or visit the Cliffs of Moher a spectacular 5-mile long cliff which rises almost 200m above sea level. Stop in the heritage town of Kilrush, before boarding a ferry to Tarbert (ferry not included) in north County Kerry. Arrive in Tarbert and continue through Listowel and on to Tralee.
Overnight: Ballyseede Castle, Kerry area
Day 6: Dingle Peninsula This morning breathtaking landscapes will unfold as you drive around the Dingle Peninsula before arriving in Dunquin, where you can visit the Blasket Islands Heritage Centre. This living history museum explores the dimensions of island living and the distinctive character of the Blasket Islanders. Weather permitting, embark on a 2 - 3 hour boat trip around the nine main Blasket Islands. These remote islands are home to an incredible number of breeding seabirds, with the surrounding seas home to dolphins, porpoises, Atlantic seals and even the occasional whale or orca. 
Overnight: Ballyseede Castle, Kerry area
Day 7: Limerick to Dublin This morning spend an hour or two in the medieval city of Limerick. Visit the Hunt Museum, featuring one of Ireland’s greatest private collections of art and antiquities. Leave Limerick and travel eastwards towards Straffan in Co. Kildare. En route a small detour will bring you to the imposing Rock of Cashel which rises dramatically from the flat countrysideand is crowned by a group of buildings, both ecclesiastical and royal, including a round tower, a 13th century Romanesque chapel and the beautifully restored Hall of the Vicar Choral. Continue through rich pastures of Ireland’s midlands before arriving in Kildare. 
Overnight: Barberstown Castle, a 13th century castle, located in the heart of the horse-breeding county of Kildare.
Day 8: Dublin Departure Travel to Dublin Airport for return flight home.
