Getting Around

Downtown Pensacola, from the historic districts to the waterfront, is walkable. But it is difficult to get around outside of downtown without a car.

Escambia County Transit has a limited bus service around Pensacola; the company's free trolley connects downtown Pensacola and the beach between Memorial Day weekend and the end of September. The I-10 is the major east-west thoroughfare to catch the bus from; a number of buses pass down Palafox St. Several taxi services work the city. Bike hire is another option.

Along with a plethora of highways connecting major regional destinations, Pensacola is well served by major airlines, bus companies and Amtrack.

Pensacola Regional Airport is served by many major airlines; it's 4 miles northeast of downtown off 9th Ave on Airport Blvd. A taxi costs about $15 to downtown and $28 to the beach. Try Yellow Cab.
