On the morning of the cruise, meet in the hotel lobby after breakfast and we will transport you to the ship to begin your cruise. Day 1 New Orleans, LA Welcome to New Orleans. This vibrant city, also known as the Big Easy, is the perfect destination to begin your Mississippi River voyage. Arrive the day before your cruise and and explore the most popular attractions and cultural highlights of New Orleans at your leisure. With complimentary transportation to the ship, we will make your tour is as worry-free as possible.
Day 2 Houmas House, LA Explore the Houmas House and its history as you stroll along the gardens, ponds, and the majestic live oak alley that adorn the grounds. Discover the southern splendor of "The Sugar Palace," with its 16 rooms filled with period antiques and Louisiana artwork.
Day 3 Baton Rouge, LA Baton Rouge features all the history you would expect in a state capital, but with an added downhome flavor that makes it truly unique. Led by our private guide, enjoy a tour of the cities' most famous attractions, including the Old and New State Capitol and the interactive Louisiana State Museum.
Day 4 Oak Alley, LA Once serving as an antebellum sugar cane homestead, Oak Alley Plantation is named after its most distinguishing feature, a row of 300-year-old oak trees. This leafy canopy forms a quarter-mile path leading to the Mississippi River. Restored to its 19th-century grandeur, this classic Greek Revival-style antebellum mansion is breathtaking.
Day 5 New Orleans, LA Welcome back to New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz, and where art and culture abound around every corner of this unique city. The open-air artist colony proudly displays local works on the iron fence in Jackson Square, while the city’s 45 museums carefully preserve its rich history. Stay an extra day or even a few nights to enjoy the famed French Quarter.
