WHAT TO DO

Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park & Reserve – Explore 1,500 acres of subtropical forest and commune with nature at 12 freshwater lagoons, five of which are open for swimming. Here you will also find more than 500 plant species, an iguana habitat, and a myriad of rare birds. Take a Day Trip to Picturesque Saona Island – This small tropical paradise, part of Cotubanamá National Park, is famed for its pristine, palm-fringed beaches and long stretches of white sand. Visit the quaint villages of Mano Juan and Catuano and see pre-Columbian rock art at the Cave of Cotubanamá. Scape Park – This natural theme park features ziplining, swimming in cenotes, exploring ancient caverns, snorkeling in tropical waters and more.

WHEN TO GO

Punta Cana is blessed with warm weather year-round, but the best time to visit is during the off-season, May to early June. Keep in mind that hurricane season in this part of the world lasts from June through November, and Punta Cana can experience severe tropical storms.
