The amazing Mayan city of Ek Balam, meaning Black Jaguar, was excavated at the end of the 20th century and dates back to 700 AD. It was likely inhabited since 100 BC.
San Pedro is a mere 20-minute flight from Belize’s Goldson International Airport to the San Pedro airport, which is within walking distance of the town. You can also travel via ferry from the Marine Terminal on the mainland of Belize.
