Getting Around

There are more than 200,000 coffee trees at the Finca el Pacifico coffee plantation; a delightful two-hour drive through lush mountains surrounding Huatulco. Oaxaca relies on forestry products, fruit and vegetable crops, and native handicrafts to boost its economy.

Locals celebrate La Noche de Los R√°banos (Night of the Radishes) each December, carving people and animals from radishes, which are then judged by the governor.

One of Oaxaca's best-known products is mezcal, similar to tequila, but distilled from cactus varieties aside from the blue agave, which is used in the production of tequila.
